My back? - September 15th 2012, 01:12 AM

Okay so, I figured I'd ask and wait for replies because if I went to the doctor/hospital I'd be waiting for 8 hours anyways xD And I'm not even sure if it's that serious but here goes.

I fell backwards and bent my neck/back in a weird way. It didn't hurt really, but now if I stand up completely straight or lay down on my back totally straight it's the most excruciating pain I've had for a long time.
Add on to that the fact that the whole top half of my body has been shaking pretty noticeably since it happened (like 10 mins ago)

I'm going to be trying to look it up myself but I'm posting on the off chance that someone knows their stuff or is better at research than me and knows what's going on

If it doesn't stop in like an hour or two I'll be going to the hospital no matter what.
Oh and I just noticed that my body only shakes if I have my neck straight, if I slouch I don't shake at all.

You may have damaged nerves, you could have a slipped disc, there are numerous possibilities and if you are shaking the pain receptor in your back might have been pinched so you can't feel the pain so your body has to show in a physical way that you've hurt yourself! GET TO THE DOCTOR NOW! Or a chiropractor eh. Haha, either way you can't let yourself go like that for an hour! Come on man, you should know better!

Jay.

I should know better!
I looked into a bit more and I keep ending up at spinal cord injuries, so I'm going to get my wife to drive me to the hospital when she gets home from work soon, seeing as I probably shouldn't drive like this.
And I certainly can't afford an ambulance ride anywhere.

Plus my wife has training as an ambulance person so she'll be a big help anyways

good. But, if you do have a slipped disc, you wouldn't actually feel it. My mum has about a billion different back type diagnosis, the list has like 8 things on it, plus slipped disc, it can also pinch nerves and after a while can give you a lot of pain.

Jay. Hope for the best, expect the best, I hope you are okay.

Re: My back? - September 15th 2012, 03:27 AM

Well by the time my wife had gotten home the pain was completely gone, and the shaking/shivering was off and on so we decided that instead of sitting in a hospital waiting room for 8 hours we'll see if it stops in the next few days. Seeing as it doesn't appear to be getting any worse (it's been getting a bit better if anything), we don't see the point in wasting a night to be told the same thing because the line for the machines is so long.

Visit a chiropractor perhaps? Seriously, just because the symptoms are subsiding doesn't mean it is gone.

It's like when I was in hospital with my blood clot. My symptoms vanished and so did I from that hospital.

It took another week after that to be diagnosed. Some symptoms DO disappear.

Jay.
