dizziness/sickness/everything else - April 13th 2009, 11:54 PM

urgh this is absolutely doing my head in.

i'm so dizzy and i feel like i'm about to be sick permanently. i've had this for the best part of five months now and theres no more anti-sickness stuff they can give me.. so i guess i'm just gunna have to get over that.

but how do i help the dizziness?

i've tried drinking more water, i'm not dehydrated.
and i tried to sleep for a bit but that hasn't helped. i tried eating something, hasn't helped. whenever i stand up my vision goes blurry and dark and i feel like i'm gunna pass out.

i also have permanent back pain which i can't get rid of, its just always there.

and stomach cramps which i can't seem to get rid of either. and my head is absolutely pounding, like a crunching head achee.

i did just finish my last lot of chemo two days ago so i'm guessing that's the reason, i just don't know how to deal with these shit side effects,

help??. i'm suffering here and its making me sad

oh and my doctor is not helpful at all. basically told me that theres nothing more they can give me, and "it'll get easier.." urgghhhhh.

..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..

Alright, I think I might have told you this before but there is this really good website called teens living with cancer. It is a really caring community who helped me a lot when I was going through my first MRI and blood tests. Not to say we don't love you but I really don't know anything about this question and people there might be able to help you more than we can, also Planet Cancer is a great website as well! Chemo reall messes with your system, and you should probably tell your doc about the back pain, it might just be out of allignment or something. With the dizziness you should be very carefull and try to get up slowly and try to drink even more water than you could imagine, sometimes you don't know you are dehydrated. I hope all this gets better soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aww, Elle, my cousin had the same effects when he went through cancer.

I really dont know how to help, but you really have my heart & I know you can get through these side effects...

...Just like my cousin did.

Sorry for not helping much.

PM me if you want to

It all sounds like a good excuse to curl up in a warm bed with some yummy food : )

If theres nothing the docs can do to make it better, you've just gotta get as comfy as possible and hope that it'll pass.

i dont have cancer but i have side effects like that... usually i eat really sour candy..can you take a bath? that's what i sometimes do... or avoid light ort bright things.. like relax in a dark cool room.. you could also use cold or hot compress for the back and head pain... whichever makes you feel better...

hope i helped... im going very close to be a very useless person
