Lethargic/tired all the time - November 3rd 2012, 03:35 PM

I dont know if its my meds or if its just me, but i am just so tired all the time.
I am currently on 20mg of Fluoxetine (prozac) daily for anxiety and depression.
As for my diet, I wouldnt say its the best but i wouldnt say its the worst. I have a small appetite too but thats just me, i dont have an ED.
I mean like, right now i have hardly any energy to even move. I could fall asleep at my laptop at this minute.

I really dont know what to do because its getting in the way of so much stuff for me, i cant be bothered with my college work or anything because of it. Im just really scared it will get to the point that i start failing.
Anyone got any advice? Thanks.

If you haven't been on your meds for more than 3 months, or if the dosage was changed within the last 3 months, it could be your medication.

Otherwise, it might be your eating habits. If you only eat pizza for lunch and then have fast food for dinner, you will have received too little of the nutrients your body NEEDS to function properly. A balanced diet is the best. Also having a scheduled diet and sleep schedule really helps.

Even if it's not "9pm get in bed" but "between 9 and 10 get in bed" is better than staying up until 1am one night and going to sleep at 8pm the next.

Your body needs predictability. It needs to be able to go "Hm, enough time has passed and I should be tired now". This helps you get to sleep on time, get enough rest, and your body will function better.

Also, drinking water first thing in the morning and throughout the day will help wake you up and energize you. If it gets to be too much, speak with your GP or the person who prescribed your medication.
