How do I heal a bruise extremely quickly? [urgent] - November 26th 2012, 09:17 PM

Long story short, I was sticking my xbox thumbgrips on my face out of boredom and left one on for too long. Now I have a really red circular bruise on the side of my face - I'm not medic, but I'm guessing I ruptured some vessels/deprived the area of oxygen whilst the grip was on. I have college tomorrow. How can I heal it by then?! It's 10:15pm atm, I have to be in at 11am. I don't mind staying up if it means getting rid of them.

Don't want people getting the wrong idea...

I don't really think you can make a bruise heal faster than it already does. A bruise is just blood that rushed up the the other side of your skin because of damage to either capillaries or venules near your skin.
Usually the medical treatment for a bruise is RICE (rest, ice, compression, and elevation). Seeing as it's on your face it's already naturally elevated above your heart you could try putting some ice on it for a bit and see if that helps. Seeing as it's your cheek I'm not sure you could really do any help by compressing the area, and seeing as your cheek I think the only way you could rest it is by keeping a straight face all the time.

Good luck if it doesn't go away by tomorrow I'm sure you could just tell people the truth and it will become one of those funny stories you can all laugh about later on together.
