Acupuncture - December 19th 2012, 01:27 AM

I was recommended acupuncture by my physician to relieve some of my gallbladder symptoms rather than just having the organ taken out surgically. I'm trying to keep all of my organs!

I had my first acupuncture treatment Monday. I only had 12 needles put into my skin, and I laid there for a period of 20 minutes. I haven't felt any changes and it'll be 48 hours after my treatment tomorrow. My doctor told me it might take two or three times to regulate things out and then I won't need anymore treatments.

I was just curious if anyone else had acupuncture treatments for the gallbladder or any other digestive problems and how long it took until they started noticing changes and relief. Also, is there anything I should be doing to go along with the acupuncture to assure I am healed?

I've never had it done, but with other acupuncture treatments, they say it isn't until the 3rd visit when people begin to notice change.

As for other things, be sure to avoid fried foods, alcohol, and tobacco. Instead, eat foods with a lot of iron and high in B vitamins. More fruits and veggies, basically. As well as whole grain foods.
