Constantly oily face. >.< - March 17th 2013, 03:42 AM

Hi. Well, the title explains it. For the past week, week and a half or so, I've dealt with a CONSTANTLY oily face. I wash my face with a face wash (non-exfoliating, if that makes a difference) that's supposed to keep it clean and dry. I've washed my face with it twice a day at times. Hours after my shower, my face is oily again. I haven't been eating more or less of anything, my face is normally kind of dry, actually, and even when I'm on my period or fixing to start my period, my face isn't like this. Normally, before/during my period, I just get little minor breakouts, not volcanoes of disgustingness in my pores. Makeup, no makeup - still oily.
HALP. What do I do? I wash my face enough, honestly. asdfghjkl

Edit: If it helps, the oil is mostly on my forehead and on my nose. It's everywhere, but mostly in those areas.

Hiya. Well, oily skin can be very hard to overcome. You mentioned that you use non-exfoliating face wash, which is good as you can't exfoliate everyday, but you could try using it occasionally, like say every two weeks, as it can actually help remove impurities from the surface of your skin. It doesn't sound like you're over-washing or under-washing, but I'd be careful with face wash products, as some of them can irritate the skin, depending on their chemical make-up. There are some natural products out there which you could try, can't name any off the top of my head I'm afraid, but you could look into it. It's usually the forehead and nose areas that get oily, that's what it is for most people, myself included. If it's a case that you're not eating more or less of anything, you probably don't need nutritional advice, so I'll only give you a mini-lecture. Eat more fruit and veg and cut down on fatty foods, as what you eat can control your oil production. Oh, and drink loads of water! Also, try your best to wash your face with tepid or lukewarm water, as hot water can be irritating to the skin and can dry it out, encouraging over-production of oil. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem, what I do that helps is I wash with regular dove soap and then use Cetaphil lotion. After the lotion soaks in I use Neutrogena's oil absorbing face powder and then I'm good to go. Just remember to your wash your face later and use a washcloth to get rid of the makeup. Your skin will most likely be oily again when you wake up as these steps are not permanent solution, just for a daily routine. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies, guys. I can see how my period could be a likely cause, since it is for most, but it's just never been like that. I don't know.

It could be that touching your face too often could be the culprit of the oil which appears on the surface of your face. Personally for me, I tend to get oily skin when I touch my face often.

It's really good to wash your face a couple of times a day rather than several as you can over dry it and produce more oil. I second eating more greens and less oily foods. Exercise is always a good option to get some sweat out and later you can pat your face dry. If you're really subconscious about the oily-ness of your face, try some rice paper specially made as over-the-counter products to suck most of the oil. Good luck!

ok so basically when you take a shower , get a NEW bar (only use the bar) of soap and create a fluffy lather in a lufa. Once you have the lather put it on your face like a mask (AVOIEYES AND MOUTH) you can put this on your forehead as well as you entire face. DON't TAKE THIS MASK OFF UNTIL 10 minz after you get out of the shower (when you feel this mask on your face become stiff.. Its time to take it off) . Take a warm wash cloth and gently , remove it off and then NO MORE OILY FACE.

Also Drink more water. Yes. Definitely drink more.

Use a T-zone serum for the clogged pores (tea tree is great) and Jurlique is a great brand. Using aloe jelly will help. If still oily, visit a beauty place. I'm sure they can cleanse your face of all dirt and clogged pores.

I hope I helped! Plus, if still wondering, here is some Ayurvedic home remedies ,you may try this also :- http://www.healthresource4u.com/ayur...dry-skins.html

Keep the skin really clear. Restriction cleansing that person or two or even three times each day. Too much washing will stimulate your skin color to make more acrylic.Make use of domestic hot water any time cleansing your face. Hot water dissolves epidermis gas better than tepid or perhaps cool water.
Make sure that your entire cosmetic makeup products are usually Free of oil!

There's two things that can help with this:
For one, go to the drug store and look into some sort of face wash that is specifically designed for oily complexions. And, you can also carry around with you those face wipes if it gets oily.

Two, diet can be a big part of it as well. If you eat lots of oily or greasy foods, that can seriously affect the way your skin looks.

Good luck!
