Exclamation My skin?, - July 10th 2013, 08:42 AM

Hi, so I've been trying to get rid of spots, blackheads/blocked pores and then tightn my pores.

I've managed to get rid of most of the spots except when near my period because I have awful breakouts.
But the blackheads and blocked pores don't seem to go?

I use a detol face wash at the minute, I've also use young skin face scrub and a peach wash from boots but none have worked. Ive tried exfoliating gloves but again didn't work,
Any ideas how to get rid of them?
Then I need to tighten my pores (especially from on and around my nose)

You can get these metal devices called blackhead removers. Google it and it should suggest loads. I haven't used them myself but apparently they work.

There are several products on the market for removing blackheads, including sticky strips of paper and hook-like things. However, blackheads are just blocked pores and therefore I've found that the only way to remove them is to squeeze them out.

Wash your face with soap and warm water to relax the pores, then take 2 cotton buds and gently squeeze the plugs of sebum out. Voila, blackheads gone!

One thing I've used on pimples that seems to help is tea tree oil. It has a strange smell, but I put it on at night so it's less noticeable.

I've also found tea tree oil to be effective with spots in general, but in my experience it doesn't remove the sebum (oil) plugs.
