Exclamation What is this thing..? - July 20th 2013, 08:28 AM

Hello.

So since February this year I have had an awful pain under my arm leading into my breast. There isn't anything visible at all so it isn't an in growing hair.

I have seen doctors about it but they also aren't sure what it is so on Monday I will be having a blood test, in a week I will be having some more tests but I'm not sure what those tests will be.

One of the doctors said its a lump, but at the minute nothing to be worried about because it could be a swollen lymph gland.

I've had three different courses of antibiotic which did nothing.

I just want to know if anyone else has had this? And what to expect in the hospital?

From what little researching I've done I've found a few possible things it could be. Although it still could be anything else but it might be an ingrown hair, swollen lymph node or a cancerous lump. I'm hoping for your sake its something minor and can be taken care of quickly and easily.

At this point in time I would advise against doing your own research. You will uncover lots of scary things it could be but they may not actually be a "could be" in your case.

Some things they may do is different imaging tests. Is the lump palpable if you feel in the area? .

Yeah, if you feel around you can pretty much hold it between your fingers.

It isn't an ingrowing hair...you can see them as a spot-like thing, this isn't at all visible.

I had blood tests on Tuesday so the results for that will be back in a week or so, and the I'm having a scan next Tuesday.

Hi there,

If I understand what you're describing, I've had one before, so has my brother. It's most probably a swollen lymph node. It's like a tiny lump, that feels harder than a pimple would and a little larger, too? You can hold it between your fingers? The skin around it doesn't hurt to much, but it hurts when you touch that spot too much?

It's probably a swollen lymph node, as I mentioned, that's on the path of a vein, which could be what's causing the pain to go right to your breast.

Just check it out though. Hopefully, it's nothing serious
