Eczema - December 3rd 2013, 12:53 PM

I hope this is the right place, if not feel free to move it.

If you have eczema, do you need special shower gels etc? It might seem like a silly question but I got a girl who has eczema on her hands for secret santa and I don't want to buy like a bath set and she can't use it because of it, and if I ask her, it might be obvious..

Some shower gels etc. might have some effect on skin with eczema but it does depend between people. I think it's best to think of another present just to be safe.

Re: Eczema - December 3rd 2013, 03:32 PM

I get a small amount of eczema in the winter, and I don't need to change anything to deal with it, my regular shower gel and deodorant's don't have an effect on my skin, other than minimal irritation.

I'm not too sure about people that have bad eczema, though.

Some people are more sensitive than others.

My eczema used to be to a point where I could only use scentless lotions, and I still sometimes have to use gentle body washes to prevent the eczema from worsening.

Some people may have an easier or harder time, though, so it probably is best to use caution when purchasing a gift.

Alright, thank you for your replies. I think I'll opt for something else instead, just in case.

Maybe get her some Eucerin lotion. It's made for eczema. I use it all the time and it works wonders

Re: Eczema - December 4th 2013, 05:54 AM

I have eczema on my hands as well, and I've always been fine with whatever shower gels I used. They weren't special or anything. I would say it differs from each person, however, my little brother has it all over his body, and he's fine too.
I think most people could deal with it, but to be safe, look for something else. Some lotion maybe.

i don't know what i'm supposed to do
