ways to help nausea?! -
January 12th 2009, 09:07 PM
okk. so i've got bone cancer, having chemo, blah blah blah.
and i was wondering..
does anyone know of any natural ways of helping nausea? because during chemo they dose me up with all the anti emetics they can give me but i still get bad nausea and vomitting a lot of the time. i wear sea-bands [the sea sickness wrist bands] and they have actually helped. so yeahh, if anyone knows of anything that helps i'd give it a go.. i really will try [almost] anything because its really not very fun feeling sick all the time.
thankkkss. :]
..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..

I really wish I could help more, but I'm really not sure. Try getting fresh air and so forth, don't over worry yourself about it, or else it'll just make it worse, if that makes sense.
Good luck, keep fighting! And if you ever need anything, let me know <3 Even just someone to talk to.

To help nausea, they should definitely have information on that - it's not uncommon for chemo patients to experience it.
I can't reccomend anything specific - but I tried peppermint tea and it worked pretty well.
But just Google: nausea chemotherapy treatments; should get some good hits with it (:
Best of luck dear, Bless. x

Hi Elle!
I experience nausea quite a bit, and i've found that having some ginger tea or ginger biscuits help to settle my stomach, but try getting ginger by itself and then adding it to the tea as the ginger in ready-made teas and biscuits usually have a low percentage therefore won't work very well.
Other than that, fizzy drinks that have gone flat are quite good.
Different things work for different people though, but definitely FRESH AIR and liquid...as long as something is in your stomach, try to brave things out. Good luck and keep fighting! x

After surgery the only thing I could eat were soda crackers, and they seemed to have done the trick in limiting my feelings of nausea, also as someone else stated, Peppermint tea works well.

Phenegran is a anti-nausea prescription drug that I was prescribed when I had very bad stomach problems... it works very well the only problem is that it makes you VERY sleepy.

it sounds weird and i've never had chemo so i wouldn't know about that but i have really bad stomach issues so feel sick alot and flat ginger ale is like acutally magic. you can make fizzy drinks flat but stiring them with a metal spoon, just as a side note
