Feel Lost: Weight - September 19th 2016, 06:45 PM

Back in May 2015 I started on hormonal treatment. I quickly gained a lot of weight very quickly and I was more active then. Then I stopped being active but remained eating healthy. So I have these pink stretch marks on my stomach from it, which I am not really upset or worried about because I've looked at them in a positive way. Without the hormonal treatment I would've been in constant pelvic pain.

Months gone by, a year went by and I finally got surgery so now I am on a different hormonal treatment to stay in menopause and not have menstrual cycles. Which is what I asked the specialists for.

I used to be skinnier a healthy weight which I liked now I am beginning to not like my body as much anymore because of the treatment I was. I am left to lose all the weight Ive put on.

I eat really healthy. My roommates joke about it when they see me buying something unhealthy because they never see me eat unhealthy. I don't buy or eat the things they do, I am very different from them, which is okay. I kept wondering eating healthy it would at least allow me to start loosing some weight, it has done very little.

I've been trying to not have ice-cream because it's my guilty pleasure and if I buy chips it's the organic sweet potatoe ones. I try to aim for less ingredients in foods to make it natural cause I was on strong hormonal treatment so I am staying away from that stuff.

I was going to sign up for badminton this fall and I'm not sure if I can now, I'm not sure if they've filled the spots or what time it is on Thursday plus I have two groups that day. I'm feeling depressed about it. I've been excited for it and I may have just screwed it up by not paying for it and registering for it and my two groups are Thursdays. It's the only sport I feel confident in playing. If I can't join or if I can't play cause it conflicts with my two groups I may just pay for a trainer myself.

The idea of going to a gym and working out, doesn't work with me. I need a group or a coach of some sort, doing that alone I don't have that type of motivation anymore. I mean I need to look into this stuff and I haven't yet, I did in the Summer but I was recovering from a lot of things then.

I want my weight back to where it used to be. I'm starting to not like my body, it's unhealthy and despite eating healthy, I don't feel healthy 100%.

I am not sure what I'm asking. I am not sure if this was just a vent but really I just feel lost.

I think it's great that you eat healthy, and still occasionally treat yourself with things that might not be so healthy. Like all things, a balance is good.

Which brings me onto...exercise. While eating healthily can help keep your weight at a constant level, and be overall, beneficial to your body, exercise is what will help you to lose weight too.

I think it would definitely be worthwhile checking up on the badminton group that you wanted to go to! I totally understand not wanting to go to the gym, and wanting a coach or something. What about buying some small simple gym equipment? And perhaps purchasing a workout dvd or something? It wont be the same, but it's a small start. I don't suppose your roommates are the 'fitness' type either? Otherwise you could suggest going jogging together. If not, perhaps you can look around your area and see if there are other activities that you could join?

It's okay to not know what you are asking either, and simply just vent. I hope it helped being able to get your thoughts down

Thank you for responding, it was really helpful!

I did end up joining a gym and I can go to anytime, it's open 24 hours. I've only gone once but it was really nice to exercise.

Starting small and working myself up slowly.
