Question Eating habits - October 21st 2016, 05:18 PM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of eating disorders, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

Lately, I've had a complete loss of appetite. I've been keeping track of what I have been eating and I am not making it anywhere close to what a woman my age and size should be eating. I set reminders in my phone for me to eat, but I simply cannot eat if I'm not hungry. It makes me nauseous if I try. This has been happening on and off since June and doesn't seem to be following any sort of pattern. I am not on any medication nor do I do any sort of drugs or drink. I did struggle with disordered eating (never a diagnosed eating disorder) in my early and mid teens, but it is not something I struggle with still. I am planning on going to see a doctor about this soon. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing or any idea what can cause it?

Hi Eclipse,

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. I've sorta gone through the same type of thing but that was back when I was recovering. Have you been stressed or sick for the past couple minutes? Are you eating at normal times, for example breakfast, lunch, and dinner? There might also be something medical that's happening to you which I'm happy you're going to see your doctor.

What I did when I was having this issue is I would have a meal replacement shake like boost. I found it was easier to drink something instead of trying to eat something. It also helped me feel less nauseous. You should keep us updated and let us know what your doctor ends up saying. Let me know if you need anything more.

I hope you feel better soon!
