little spot above lip? - April 10th 2017, 09:12 AM

ive got this little spot that is like literally just above my lip... it looks like its part of me lip but it isnt.... it isnt like all that noticeable to other people... as its like red and is the same colour as me lip...its not sore unless i touch it.. its not pussy or anything....its just bugging me....its a very smalll spot... the internet says it could be a trapped hair folicle or somethign like that but i dont see how it can be that as its not sore and thats no hair near or around it?

Spots can have many different causes, but since this one isn't large, or pus-filled, I wouldn't worry about it yet.

The best thing to do is to leave it alone and just keep an eye on it in case it gets worse or spreads. As long as you keep the area clean and try not to touch it too much then it should go away by itself, or at the very least, not get worse.

I've been putting lip balm on it etc and it seems to be going .... im just a little worred if its from where my cat scratched me the other day...but then its not sore or painful. I was wondering if it could be due to lack of vitamins or osmething like that?

It could be from where your cat scratched you. I guess that it's also possible that spots in general can be a sign of vitamin deficiency. But at the same time, I think you would notice other symptoms too like changes in your hair and nails, as well as overall feeling tired and out of sorts. Is there any particular reason why you feel the spot could be linked to lack of vitamins?

Glad to hear that the spot is going anyway

Ah your concern is understandable, given that many people say that a good diet prevents outbreaks (although I'm not sure if that's entirely true!) Perhaps you can try to make some meals a bit healthier, or cutting down on how many times you have fast food? If not, you can always look into vitamin supplements (though may be wise to check with a doctor first).
