Well kinda,,,I go for half an hour each week. Its something to help me get fitter. Im proud, so I thought I would share!

Yay for health!

I really should start working out again. My mom has been talking about getting an elliptical machine for home so we don't have to pay gym membership. I'm hoping she goes for it!

I can't bring myself to join a gym, too many people in already great shape... and then there's me... the anti-shape.

My roommate was talking about getting Wii Fit ... I hope he actually does get it... I think it would be interesting

Until then, I'll just continue to take extended walks with my other roommate as my investment towards a healthier lifestyle.

It is great that you want to get in shape. I started going to the gym three times a week a while back ago and love it. One of my favorite things to do is yoga. It has really helped me increase my flexibility. Try it out!

That's awesome congrats! I could never go through with it. I can't have people watching me while I exercise. It's a strange paranoia I have.

You really should do more than 30 mins and more than once a week.

To see any difference in your body you should be exercising 3-4 times a week for +40 mins. Just for comparison the suggested ammount of exercise each day given by the RDA figures, are a 30 min brisk walk everyday.

It takes your body on average around 20 min's to get into a "fat burning zone" I wont go into the science behind it, becuase you can google it.

A thing to do though would be to buy a heart monitor watch. Everyone has a level of heart beat which is the most effecient way to exercise. If you don't want to buy a watch (think cheapest is round 30) just try and watch yourself. You should be able to speak, and not be totally out of breath, but at the same time you should be sweating, a bit short on breath but still able to talk.

As for your times , ease yourself into more. I mean 30 mins for me is my cardio warmup. Then I go for an hour - 1 hour 30 of pure resistance. I also do this 5-6 times a week, so much the point where some people say I live at the gym. But this is because I enjoy it and I enjoy what it gives me.
