Question how much caffeine till the effects wear out? - August 22nd 2017, 11:02 PM

So im kind of addicted to coffee right now. i really like how it tastes and i noticed it keeps me fuller longer, which is good because i am overweight and have the habit of eating too much/getting hungry easily.
anyways, since the start of high school i've been needing some everyday to keep me energized and awake, as i need to stay up a bit later to study & wake up early for school.

i have about 2 cups of coffee everyday. with this amount of coffee every school day, how much longer until caffeine no longer has its effects on my body? i know some people who have had a lot of coffee to the point that caffeine doesnt really work on them (by "work" i mean that it doesnt give them any energy like it does to a normal person)

also, the coffee i have is not the really strong, black coffee. its more diluted and has lots of water & cream and other stuff.

Hey there,
Unfortunately, there isn't one single answer to this question. It really depends on your body. This study suggests caffeine tolerance begins within 1-4 days. However, in the same breath, everyone reacts differently.
Also, you should note that there is a "safe" amount of caffeine for the human body. This website states roughly 85 mg of coffee for teens is the safe limit.
So there really isn't a set number of days I can give you before you are immune, so to speak, to the effects of coffee. Talking to your doctor would probably give you a better idea what it could look like to you as an individual.
