Question Should I be concerned? - November 12th 2017, 07:39 AM

I'm super unsure if I should go see a doctor or not.
I feel something is off with my stomach. Like, I am constantly hungry. It has been going on for weeks and I first put it of, since I'm stressed and I always eat a lot more when I'm stressd.
But lately it's really started to be a bother. I'll eat breakfast and take the bus to Uni and once I arrive I'll already be hungry again. And when I'm hungry I'm not just hungry. Sometimes I get really bad stomachpains and most of the time I'll feel really sick. Like, I feel I'll throw up if I don't eat something soon.
Then I'll eat something (if I can) and it (often) will get better. Sometimes I can't though since I don't have anything with me and I don't have time to get something since lecture is starting. Then I'll sit through it. After some time the feeling often goes away and only comes back when I'm eating something. But it's super distracting. Like, try to concentrate on a lecture if you are in pain and feel like throwing up. It's horrible.
Also sometimes I'll still feel hungry even when I'm full, if that makes any sense. Like a few days ago I ate a lot and felt super full but I was still hungry and felt like I needed to eat something.

And I promise it's not because I don't eat enough. I actually eat so much that my roommate and others are pointing it out to me. Calling me out on eating enough for 3 people and stuff like that (which doesn't exactly help with my body image....)

I'm not sure if its just stress anymore, since it's a problem even when I'm not feeling stressed (and I'm feed up with constantly being hungry and in pain and feeling sick). But I'm not to keen on making a doctors appointment either...

Since you are feeling pain and nausea, yes, you should definitely go to the doctor. The doctor might be able to help you figure out why this is happening and, do some tests etc. If something is going on with my body that is concerning me or confusing me then I will make an appointment with my doctor just to get their opinion and make sure that nothing serious is going on.

Best regards.

Hello, I'm sorry that you are not feeling well. I agree with what is said up above, you don't feelwell and you are feeling pain and other things then you should go to the doctor and have them check you out and see what they can do for you. And then you can start to feel better soon. Because even if it's just something small they will be able to help you out and I know that you may be upset with this, but try try be calm if you can and when you are able to call and make an appointment do that. The doctors always want to help us out and make you feel better as soon as you come in and see them. I wish you the best and I hope that you feel better soon. Lots of Hugs.

Wanted to give a short update. I've been to the doctor today and I'll have to get my blood tested on monday.
She thinks it is most likely chronic and caused by stress, though she wants to check everything else, just to be sure. As awfull as it sounds, I really hope they'll find something cause then they can do something about it. If they find nothing it'll be stress which means it will never go away and the thought of that makes me wanna cry
But I'll know next week once I get my test results....

Hope the results for the blood test are okay!

Stress can be difficult to live with, and though 'chronic' suggests long term, it doesn't mean that it won't ever go away. Maybe if it stress, you can get help for dealing with stress, so that you won't have to end up in pain so much?

Keep us updated!

Thanks Holly I guess thats something I should definitely remember if it turns out to be chronic.
I just got my results from the tests (put of going for some time which is why they are late) and they are all good. So they didn't find anything there. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow where we will probably talk about what to do now and if there'll be another test or thats it.
On the good side my doc prescribed me some meds for my stomach. Just something to lower the amount of acid to see if maybe it helps and it helped a lot. I have hardly been feeling sick at all and the pain disappeared for most part. It has hirt oretty bad once or twice but i was mostly fine. And since I dont feel sick and in pain anymore I actually can listen to my body again for when im really feeling hungry so i dont overeat as much anymore and that makes me feel better all over. Turns out i often simply ate because it helped with feeling sick. Not because i was really hungry

It's good that your results came back and nothing showed up. Even better that the meds you were given have helped to settle your stomach a bit! Hope your next appointment goes well

Re: Should I be concerned? - November 29th 2017, 11:37 AM

Well turns out they did find something in another test. Something about a slight infection. So my doc refered me to a specialist and while we are at it, she also decided I should get check up on my (don't know the english word thing), so after seven years of taking meds for it it will finaly get checked up on.
So I gotta make two appointments. I hate appointments... especially with docs... but whatever, decided to see this through. One of them will definitely be next year since they don't have time this year anymore. With the other doc i haven't reached anyone yet, but my mom said it will probably be next year as well.

I don't like appointments with doctors much either, so I can relate to that. Even though it must suck having an infection, it's good that it got picked up and that you'll hopefully be seeing a specialist next year!
