Coffee alternatives? - November 6th 2018, 07:19 PM

[SIZE="a"]Is there any alternatives to coffee I can utilize so I don't get as bad as a headache as I did today. I had gone two days without coffee and the pain was so unbearable. Made myself a cup of coffee about an hour ago and the pain has decreased drastically. However, I am not supposed to be drinking coffee anymore. Was trying not to take any painkillers, as I had almost exceeded the 24 hour dose limit.

Thank you.

Does coffee trigger your headache?

How about tea, it is healthier and is my alternative to coffee.

Hey,
Is it just coffee you can't drink or caffeine in general?

If it is just coffee then try something else that is caffeinated there are caffeinated teas, soda, I know there are some Mio water drops that have caffeine in them.

If it is all drinks with caffeine in it then honestly I don't think there is much you can do. The headaches are happening because of the caffeine withdraw I believe. Taking Tylonal or Alieve can help with the headaches but make sure you take them as prescribed. If the headaches are really bad and because of withdraw I would call your Dr and ask them what can help with withdraw.

I hope this has helped, even if it's just a little bit.

How about Hot coco? Tea is probably better for you as well.

My dad isn't allowed to drink coffee because of his heart condition and his doctor approved decaf. Are you allowed to switch to decaf? It may take a bit of trial and error to find a brand that works for you though.

Like it's been said, it depends on why you're not supposed to be drinking coffee any more.
If the issue is addiction to worse substances and not wanting to consume anything you depend on, is it possible to taper off your coffee gradually (e.g. maybe do 1 tsp of caffeinated coffee beans to every 1 tbsp decaf beans and eventually drink just decaf).

You could also switch to caffeinated tea. Mate team in particular is really good for giving an energy boost. So you can still get caffeine but but at a much lower level. If you really like how coffee tastes, keep some decaf on hand for the taste.

If you can't drink coffee at all, you honestly might just need to suck it up. I've gotten headaches if I stop drinking coffee too and that passes in a few days. If it's truly unbearable, you might want to speak with a doctor since discontinuing drinking coffee shouldn't be having that kind of affect on your life.

Puer is a great alternative for coffee! One can find its taste unpleasant but I like it very much. Just don't drink that kind of tea in the evening because you won't sleep all night long (:

Have you tried discussing this with a doctor? I'm sure we could come up with a lot of alternatives, but it wouldn't really replace the fact you may have an underlying issue that needs medical attention we can't provide.

So is it more the caffeine in the coffee that gives you the headaches or the coffee itself? If it is the caffeine you could just switch to decaf. Other alternatives would be Cocoa.
