It isn't fair. - February 18th 2019, 01:36 AM

So I had an ultrasound done in December, and had an appointment a few weeks ago with my gastroenterologist; the ultrasound was done because I am having that freaking pain still in my side under my rib cage. Any way, she said that they found fatty liver and she felt my side and said the liver felt sort of hard. I go in on Tuesday for a fibroscan of it to make sure there is no scerrosis (sp?) :/ I'm worried. It astounds me! I don't drink to excess if not maybe once in a blue moon, and I am trying to eat healthy and exercise more, so why?! Why me? What if the liver has some serious scarring? What will I do?!

2. (of a substance or object) able to recoil or spring back into shape after bending, stretching, or being compressed.

We all possess resilience, we just need to realize it.

Sorry to hear that the gastroenterologist found fatty liver. It's natural to be worried about health concerns, but try not to panic.

It is possible to have non-alcoholic fatty liver, though I understand it's frustrating when it's usually associated with drinking too much. That said, it sounds like you are trying to eat healthy and be more active, which is good as that should help prevent it from getting worse.

Treatment for fatty liver depends on what stage it's at and whether you have any other related health issues (e.g. diabetes). You might want to check out this article for more information.

Best of luck for the fibroscan. Hopefully it's not serious and at the very least you are aware of it now. Take care
