Heavy Bleeding - November 26th 2019, 01:01 AM

So I want to start off by saying I went to the ER and have an appointment tomorrow with my gynecologist. My menstrual bleeding is extremely heavy. On the ultrasound they found thick endometrial lining in the uterus. What can I do until I see my doctor tomorrow to alleviate bleeding if anything? I’ve literally been like this 3 days straight. Also, the doctor in the ER had no clue what thick endometrial lining was, does anyone here know what that means for me?

I mean the endometrial lining, if I'm remembering correctly, is just the lining of blood and tissue that builds up along the walls of the uterus during each month. I would assume a thick endometrial lining means yours is just thicker than is usual and may explain your heavy bleeding. I'm not a doctor, obviously, but that's what I would imagine it means. I am glad you are seeing your gynecologist tomorrow. Please let us know how it goes.

I went to my gynecologist an she put me on a birth control injection called Depo Provera and it has significantly slowed down the bleeding Apparently the ER doctor had no idea what he was talking about, lol. She said there wasn’t much I could do for my bleeding other than wait it out.

The Depo shot stopped my period entirely. I can’t guarantee that yours will stop, but you might get lucky!
