Weird popping feeling, dizziness, and head rushes. - August 22nd 2009, 01:28 AM

I've had a bunch of up and down health problems this year. Most recently I fell off of a horse and smacked my back into a wooden fence pole. I hit my head too but was wearing my helmet. Ever since I've had this really weird popping sound and feeling around the left side of my ribs. It hurts when I lay certain positions like on that side for too long or when i lay flat on my back for over ten minutes. Sometimes it even hurts to breathe or it feels like something is blocking my air way.

Then, two years ago is when i first started to get these really weird head rushes. It felt like blood was in my head that kept rotating around and sometimes I would black out for a couple seconds from it. Anyone know what this could be? I wouldn't call it dizziness because I already have that and it's a totally different feeling. When this "head rush" comes its almost like I'm doing continuous somersaults and my brain rolls around. It's an up and down feeling too, it's really hard to explain.

Theres also the dizziness. At random times I'll get really dizzy where I also may black out. This started to happen about a week after the fall. When I get dizzy I feel sick and need to lay down at times but then sometimes I don't. It's really bizarre.

Does anyone know if these symptoms all relate to each other in some way or if it could be some sort of long drawn out virus? Advice?

My advice: see a doctor ASAP. Symptoms like these are not to be taken lightly. They are most likely problems that began after your injuries. Be sure to keep hydrated and record when the symptoms occur (as in what you were doing at the time- maybe have relevance). Tell your parents and make an appointment as soon as possible!

Here are some links that might help (similar issues):

Like Amy said you should see a doctor as soon as you can, the back pain doesn't surprise me, but it isn't good and you might've bruised or cracked a rib. I'd also get checked for a concussion just in case.
