pain a year and a half after wisdom teeth removal? -
October 30th 2009, 06:26 AM
There has been pain in my mouth on and off ever since I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed (a year and a half ago). It's just dull throbbing really, but enough to bother me. Yawning alone is enough to make it hurt. And sometimes I wake up with a sore mouth and my cheeks are swollen. I can't afford to go to the dentist right now though and my mom says the doctor won't deal with the mouth. Any ideas of what could be wrong or anything I could do to help it?

It could be a ligament or lymph node issue, if your mouth and cheeks are swelling up. Honestly, you have to get to the dentist if this doesn't better. There's no other choice, because it could be a lot of things ranging from an infection to things worse. Please see a dentist! Good luck.

I agree with Phineas that the best thing to do really would be to go to a dentist or doctor again about this as it could actually be some nerve or tissue damage caused by the operation and if it's causing you persistent pain then it's worth trying to see a dentist. Perhaps you could try and go to your pharmacist and ask them for some suggestions for pain relief in the mean time.
