Question Contact Lenses? - January 7th 2009, 01:06 PM

I bought some colour contacts aprox 3 months ago, they are the ones you can wear 90 times (or 3 months I'm not sure)
anyway I wore them once and I didn't like them, so I just left them on their case (clean)
should I get rid of them, or are they still good to wear??

Did you leave them in solution or just out on their case?
If you only wore them once they sould be okay, but i'd let them soak in solution before you try putting them in or it'll be like putting paper in your eye.
If you're still not sure just phone up your optician. I phone mine all the time because i'm a total goon when it comes to contacts, I hate them.
Like I once put both of them in the same eye... go figure.
lol hope i helped

They might just be okay, but really to be sure, you should phone your optician or ask where you bought the contacts.

You shouldn't really take risks when it comes to your eyes.

Meh, as long as they were safe in a case and in solution, I bet they're fine.

It is not whether or not they are clean, contacts have a shelf life. If they say they can no longer be used after thirty days it means the contact itself is starting to break down and can do damage to your eye if you wear them. I have been wearing contacts for about six years now. And I often try to stretch the amount of time I get to wear them (because they are expensive), but my doctor constantly tells me how bad that is for me and my eyes.

Read the container of the solution you placed them in. It will tell you how long it's safe to leave them in solution. If you've gone over that, then I'd call your eye doctor and ask. Normally, a few weeks is all that they recommend you leave them in solution.

Like Lizzie says, if they're only good for three months, if you have had them longer than that, I wouldn't recommend wearing them again. Chances are slim you can do damage, but I've tried doing the same thing with prolonging my use of contacts. I regretted it when the thing suction cupped to my eyeball. :-/
