SO tired - sleeping 11 hours a night, and still exhausted -
March 5th 2010, 02:47 AM
I feel so drained lately, it's driving me insane. The most frustrating thing about it is that I'm actually sleeping alot - which is strange for me, because I've been an insomniac since I was a little kid and have been on medication for it since I was 13.
I have a rehearsal until 6 everyday, which is not particularly busy for me at all - sometimes I don't walk back in the house until after 11pm and I'm okay. But lately..I've just been passing out at 7 and not waking up until 6 am. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables - but it's usually stuff I like(pears, strawberries, cucumbers) rather than the really nutritious stuff. Should I be eating more spinach or something? Should I be taking vitamins? I don't drink a lot of caffiene, so I don't usually have caffiene crashes.. It's getting to the point where I'm too tired to get schoolwork done. skydiversinreverse ![]() |

Get your thyroid checked. I got mine checked and yep, I have problems with it.

I'd definitely check in with a doctor--just make sure nothing is wrong, or causing you to be so tired. Always better to be safe!
![]() Also, sometimes I find that if I get too MUCH sleep it can make me more tired. See if maybe you start sleeping more like 9 hours, if it makes a difference. But, definitely see a doc ASAP and hopefully they'll be able to figure out what's going on! <3 "Do not ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Hmm - never thought it would be thyroid issues =[. I'm usually pretty tired, but I always attributed it to the lack of sleep. What is your condition? And are there any other symptoms? Quote:

If it is a thyroid issue it would be an underactive thyroid. definately get checked out. Also, have you started any new medications? This happened to me and I thought I was getting the flu until I realized that drowsiness was a side effect of my new medicine.

It is possible that you are sleeping too long also. I have the same problem, when I don't sleep enough, I'm wide awake, when I sleep too much I'm so tired..
And I will take you in my arms, and hold you right where you belong. Til the day my life is through, this I promise you.121109 |

Hmmm. I am one of those people that's always cold, haven't had any other symptoms of the thyroid thing.
I am vegetarian, so anemia is always risk - but I'm usually really pretty good at making sure I get all the nutrients I need. I spoke with my neurologist today and she said that I went off my medication(daily meds for chronic migraines) dangerously fast and could be experiencing side-effects, she also mentioned something about "rebound" which is another complication of meds. I don't think the problem is medicine - I think it might be because I spontaneously decided to drop all my medications(which were quite a few) without consenting a doctor. Going to see my physicican next week, may be getting blood taken. Quote:
