If you are having pain 6 days after surgery, it’s most likely dry sockets. You shouldn’t be in pain right now. Go back to the doctors, you have like a month’s more time now healing. And its not going to be super fun, they are going to have to pack your holes with gauze, and you need to leave it in there to heal. And you might have to go back for every week for three weeks until they heal to get new packing. You should have just waited to smoke man. I really don’t think it could have been worth it. And it doesn’t matter what you smoke, you are not supposed to suck on anything because it pulls the blood clots out of the sockets, which is what causes dry sockets in the first place.

oh dear, dry socket is a bitch and a half. My mum got it, she couldnt eat or anything, she had to life on soft food and even then it killed her to swallow, really not a good idea to smoke.

Hey there Kyle,
I think Lizzie's got it pretty much covered! I think that because it's nearly a week since your surgery, it would be worth talking about this with your doctor who could help you with pain relief and follow up care. Try and book an appointment as soon as you can. Take care. |
