Bad Breath. - March 31st 2010, 05:57 PM

We all get bad breath, but mine annoys me so much. I brush my teeth two to three times a day. I have gum or mints with me. I always brush my tongue and yet I always seem to still have it. I know sometimes it's when you have an eating disorder, but I don't anymore. I eat a good amount and I work out. I eat junk food, but I'm trying to get better with that. Any tricks to make my breath not smell so bad or not smell at all?

When you fall, don't always expect someone to pick you up. Do it yourself, you're stronger then you think. Brush yourself off and keep your head high.

One of the biggest things is making sure you brush the very back of your tongue. This is where bad breath starts. Most people do not brush here either because they did not know they should, or it makes them gag. Hope this helped

Do you use mouth wash every day? Mouth wash will kill all of the bacteria that just teeth brushing will not.

Mouthwash, dental floss.

More expensive toothbrush. I know its overpriced, but the more expensive it is, the better is is (generally anyway, have a look around)

Also. Make sure you brush EVERYTHING. Behind your teeth, the back ones, even the gums if you want. Any surface in your mouth is capable of growing bacteria on it.

Drink a lot of water! Not enough to make you have to pee every half hour, but enough to kind of lightly rinse. :]

I have the same problem. Well, atleast I THINK I have the same problem but I've not ever once had anyone tell me my breath stinks. So I am probably just paranoid then.

Try mouthwash! I use the kind that does not have alcohol in it. It is very refreshing. I use peroxide too as it bubbles out the little stuff that mouthwash leaves behind. I chew minty gum alot and I think it helps. I'm OCD with having fresh breath so you are not alone!

I use a waterpik everyday before I go to sleep. It helps me and I always have really fresh breath.

Make sure when you brush your teeth, you are brushing in circles and point the brush at a 45 degree angle. Bacteria sometimes gets stuck in the little 'pockets' right below your teeth, and are sometimes miss when you brush up and down. Also, try flossing once or twice a day and use some mouth wash as well (:

Hope this helps !

Like most people have said; mouth wash!
and brush everything!

It could also be a sign of an infection like cavity or something?
try going to the dentist, they can clean your mouth fully and get rid of all the bacteria, after that make sure you keep your mouth hygiene up.
sometimes even a cold or something can give you bad breath.

Especially if you smoke, or drink red wine can damage your teeth and give you bad breath...

go see the dentist
take care <3

Talk to your dentist, they may give you some mouthwash that will work better then Listerine.

Hey there Jessie,

I'm never content with my breath or how my mouth feels until I've used mouthwash, I've found that it makes a huge difference, I can't stand to not use it. Using dental floss regularly should also help. If this does continue to be a problem for you then you could visit your doctor or your dentist about your concerns.

Take care.
