Endless headaches - April 7th 2010, 08:07 AM

I've always suffered from migraines. But since I went to africa- about 2 months into my trip- my headaches changed.

I get random piercing pain behind my eye, then start to feel numb and tingly all down my right side of my body. My musles start contracting, and my head literally feels like it's being stabbed through the eye.

This on top of my usual headaches is killing me. I can literally be walking along, and then collapse because of the pain and loss of feeling there totally sudden and painkillers dont help.

What can it be? And what can I do?

You definitely need to see a doctor. Maybe the heat in Africa caused your headaches to get more severe or you might have picked up an illness from there.

My friend suffered from continuous headaches and just found out that if she'd have left visiting the doctor any longer she may have gone blind, so get yourself there as quick as possible.

please seek professional help about both the TMJ and the head aches. Africa has many endemic diseases which may cause symptoms as to these or it could be related to TMJ, but a full physical along with some labs need to be done.

I know i should go to the doctors. But I'm absolutely petrified of them. I was hoping someone here could give me some hints as to how the feckin things might go away.

there are many hints and suggestions, but until the source is found they're useless. Imagine your vehicle making a loud noise and asking a mechanic to listen over the phone and diagnose exactly what it is. He can tell you to lube this and that to aid, but it wont stop until he can properly diagnose it and fix it.
