Overweight and have trouble working out. - July 6th 2010, 12:23 AM

So I have some pretty messed up feet.
I have had four surgeries on my feet, and they did nothing but make my pain worse.

Now I can't stand for more than 15 minutes.
I had to quit dance and martial arts. (I love both)
I don't know what to do to work out other than swim, and even that hurts me.
Because my feet are totally screwed, my knees have also gotten bad and so have my hips. My pelvis is literally twisted because of the way I walk.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to lose weight naturally?
I'd love to go to college in good shape..

If you can't exersize as much, try targetting your diet. Eat small meals every two hours or so.

At my gym we have a cardio machine where you can sit down and kind of peddle with your hands? It's weird but sounds like it would work for you. Also are you having any kind of physio on your feet? Walking is a good option too, as is resistance work with weights - whilst cardio stops burning calories the minute you stop working out, if you use weights you'll continue to burn calories after you stop

I found that riding the bike works best for me. I can't really walk though. It's too painful. That's how bad my feet are.

Do upper body weight training. I'm normally opposed to going bro-mode and not doing legs, but you got an excuse for the time being.

Ahah yeah. I would rather not build up too much upper body strength though.
Anything that would make my boobs look any bigger is a no-no.

What about swimming? Swimming is GREAT exercise.

I would swim, but as of this very moment in time, I have a new tattoo and piercing that can't be submerged in water.

You're not going to wake up one day having put on masses of muscle wondering how you got yourself into this predicament, especially as a female with the associated low levels of anabolic hormones. Not to mention, what bad could come from getting strong? Do you mean big? Like I said, you're not suddenly going to build masses of muscle.

It's not going to have any huge impact on the size of your boobs, and even if it did, is that really such a bad thing? I mean you might be happy keeping your boobs as is, but surely any additional muscle on your chest (like I said, you won't build much) is a small price to pay for reaching your weightloss goals given the current constraints on your exercise options?

Isn't it possible to cover up tattoos in a way that renders them waterproof?
