For the past 2 days, I've been forgetting to take my birth control. So, I've been taking 2 pills so I'm caught up on my days. So, it feels like one of them is stuck in my throat. Then, my chest started hurting today. So, I told my mom what's going on and she didn't help me at all. I'm not sure if I'm getting sick or not. I really hope the pills aren't getting stuck in my throat. This has never happened to me before. It hurts to swallow too. Can someone help me or tell me what's wrong with me?

Hey there
![]() It's very unlikely that a pill is getting stuck in your throat as there are muscles there to help push it down and it will dissolve. Also, most birth control pills don't cause side-effects such as throat or chest pain. It's most likely that the pain you're having is unrelated to the birth control, but it would be a good idea to call and talk to your doctor about it anyways. You may have caught some sort of throat infection, etc. and a doctor is the only person that can tell you for sure. I hope you feel better soon! <3 Emily "Sometimes it's a struggle to be not who you want to be, not who you used to be, not who you're going to be, but just being right where you are, who you are" ![]() |

You should deffinetly go see your doctor and it's not likely you have a pill in your throat, I had the same throat and chest pain a while back turns out I had a sinus infection, you could have an upper respitoary infection, sinus infection, bronchitis or even pneumonia all of which can get very serious if they going untreated, if you do have any of these your doctor will most likely put you on antibiotics, really dear I think you should go see your doctor, best of luck dear, hope everything is okay and I hope you feel better

Agreed with Ashley. I was actually thinking Bronchitus as soon as I saw the thread title. Definitely go to your doctor!
