phishical strenth - September 19th 2010, 06:05 PM

how many of these should a 15 y/o be able to do: pushups, situps, cruches, and pullups? meant phyical for title not phishical bad mispelling

It doesn't matter what your age it. It depends on how fit and active you are. If you just slob and do nothing all day, then chances are you wouldn't be fit enough to do most things. But if you go to the gym every week, then you might have more of a chance of doing these activities.

Hey there,

I looked it up on Google and found multiple sources, but this it what I found out.
  • Sit ups - The average amount is between 20 and 25.
  • Push ups - The average amount is between 19 and 34.
  • Crunches and pull ups - I honestly couldn't find any information on these two. I suggest speaking with a coach or PE teacher about it. They are sure to know!

i wouldn't say you can go be averages, it varies so much from person to person. some people will be able to do hundreds and some people won't be able to do many. i'd say a healthy, relatively fit 15 year old should be able to do about 10 or 20 or more of each.

This is a bit of a pointless question. Why does it matter what the "average" is? Are you happy with your current levels of strength? If so don't worry. If not do something about it and workout.

Not to mention that, other than the pullups, all the other exercises are pretty much endurance exercises once you get beyond a very basic level of strength.
