Nosebleeds. :( - October 8th 2010, 06:44 PM

Does anyone here get nosebleeds often? I get a whole bunch of them every winter, but I guess this year I'm starting early.

I had a realllllly bad one today, I thought it was never going to stop.

So basically, I'm just wondering if I'm the only one out here that gets bad nosebleeds frequently.

Well, I don't get nosebleeds, but...
Since it's happening in the winter it's probably your nose drying out. Have you tried a spray or something like that?

I had nose bleeds every days from about 8-13 I had my nose cauterized3 times... I guess I just grew out of them, but its weird you say you get them in the winter because itís the heat that generally brings them on. So I looked it up and got.

The air is drier, the mucosa breaks more easily, and you bleed. Also, the blood is thicker (a bit dehydrated), and it breaks thin vessels (capillaries) as it crosses the mucosa.

But I think if itís that much of a problem I think you should go to the doctors and ask them about getting it cauterized

hey, i used to have this problem in the winter time when i was younger. i found that a humidifier helps a toooon. because the air gets so dried out from heating it in the winter, that causes the nosebleeds. hope this helps.

Try a spray.
I finally stopped getting nosebleeds during this Summer.
The nose spray you can get a drug stores should be called "Saline Nose Spray".
Don't get the gel stuff, cause it tastes gross if you accidentaly swallow it. THe salin spray just tastes like saltwater.
Also, I found the Vicks brand cream/Petroleum jelly stuff works wonders if you get a bit on a cotton swab and rub it around the inside of your nose each morning and night. It keeps everything nice and moisterized. (I used the stuff that they say you can rub on your chest, back and neck for pain and stuff. Don't worry, it can go inside your nose too. Just don't like, eat the stuff :P)
Eventually they should go away. Just keep your nose nice and moisterized.
