Boyfriend has appendicitis - October 17th 2010, 02:53 PM

My boyfriend has the beginning stages of appendicitis and his parents wanted him to see if he can wait a month and go to the doctor back home. At first, it seemed like a possibility, but then his abdominal pain got worse. Luckily, he isn't running a fever or throwing up yet. But he is talking to his parents about going to the doctor again, possibly the hospital. He wants me to go with him because he is scared. I am too, but I feel that I have to remain calm so he can. Sometimes we have to do that for each other and it's my turn to be the stronger one.

I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to help him or make him more comfortable?

I think he should just go straight to the doctors. I don't think it's really a good idea to leave an illness like this untreated.

I don't know what you could do personally to make things any better for him other than to go see a doctor. They will be able to prescribe him with some medication, or whatever else for his illness. I think it's definitely a good idea to see a doctor sooner rather than later.

Take care.

That's what he is trying to do... I had thought I made that clear in my first post...

He has to talk to his parents first... I don't know why. But he wants to go straight to the doctor...

I don't see why he needs his parents approval to see a doctor when he has appendicitis. If it's hurting him then he should just try to see a doctor as soon as possible.

I know, he is doing that. I just think his parents are just worried and want to be with him since he also has Spina Bifida. He is gonna talk to them today.

wow way to flip out when you asked for the advice in the first place but your right. don't you get that this is pretty serious and needs to get treated? whats more important here, a parents opinion or somebodys health. hmmm.
