Normal? - October 18th 2010, 04:42 AM

Just wanted to let you know BEFORE I start talking that this is a FEMALE problem (being as, I am, in fact, female) and guys probably wouldn't be comfortable hearing it. So here I go.

I've been having a lot of itchiness around the vaginal area. I don't think its a yeast infection either, because I've had one and it isn't like this. The itchiness isn't there all the time, but its still there. I know for a fact that it isn't a yeast infection because I'm very cleanly and I don't wear wet clothing for long. But, I could be wrong.
A friend of mine says it could be an overthrow of horemones. But I don't think horemones does that does it? Once again, I could be wrong.
Is this normal? Am I overreacting? I'm confused. Any advice and ideas would help. Thanks.

I will forgive, but I'll never forget.

Cleanliness has nothing to do with whether or not you get a yeast infection. Itchiness is certainly a sign of a yeast infection and many people only see one or two symptoms so it would be in your best interest to see a doctor. There are other vaginal infections that can cause itchiness as well, so this is something that should be checked by a doctor, sooner rather than later!

Stacey is right. Just because you've had a yeast infection before, doesn't mean it's going to be the same the next time you have one. You could only have a few of the symptoms this time around.

But the best way to find out exactly what is wrong is if you speak to a doctor.

Take care
