Does anyone have wolff parkinson white syndrome? - October 24th 2010, 10:52 AM

I was diagnosed a few years back. I would have a deep feeling in my chest and my heart would speed up extremely fast for usually around 13 hours.

Never really affected health wise so I never went to go get it fixed.

But now I am considering it. From what they told me is that they are going to send a wire up to my heart and shock the extra wires off and it is perfectly safe.

I hope it doesn't hurt!

Hey there,

I'm suspected to have something similar, on top of another heart condition, so I know a lot about it unfortunately. Most likely they'll send the wire up through your groin, it sounds disgusting but it's really not that bad and it leaves no scar. You'll most likely be in and out within the day or two, and you won't feel a thing. It's down to you whether you get it or not, but it could really help with the rhythm of your heart!

I hope this helps.

It's honestly not that bad. You don't *have* to be awake for it, if you don't want to be. However, you will feel some bruising, and that's the worst bit. I was completely beaten up and had about three extra holes shoved in me, so hopefully your experience won't be as bad as mine.
