Hey there,

The sooner you treat your finger, the less damage it will cause! Have you run your finger under cold water? You should keep your finger under cold, running water for ten to thirty minutes to cool it down and stop the burning. It would be recommended that you see your doctor or pharmacist for some ointment to put over the burn. In the mean time, try wrapping your finger in regular household clingfilm if you have any, or a dressing if you have one. Over the counter pain medications may help, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Your finger should heal in around three weeks! Take care.

I burnt my thumb on my straighteners the other week, hurt like hell all day! Best thing to do is all of what Marie has said. You shouldn't really put any creams or substances on it if there is an open wound, like you said there is. But keep it under running cold water for a while until the pain subsides. But it's best to see a doctor if you think it's really bad.

Take care.

Actually, you shouldn't ever put ice on burns, or ice cold water, just stick to regular lukewarm/cold tap water.

Lukewarm water for up to an hour is a good idea.
Wrap it in some sort of waterproof dressing, like a gauze pad.
Use that finger as little as possible and do not bend/straigthen it unnecessarily.
Hope you feel better!
