Exercises - November 12th 2010, 02:18 PM

Okay, So my bf is currently on the P90X Work out plan thingy. And since he's seriously trying to work out (He wants to be in shape before joining the airforce) we've been eating healthy too. So, now I've kinda got the exercise bug too, and I want to exercise. I asked if I could join him, but he told me no, because the thing that he is doing is way to hard for me, because its really hard for him. So, i'm okay with that.... But I'm kind of at a loss for what I can do. Like, I'm doing sit ups, and these things I remember from high school called roman twists I think?

But I was wondering if you guys had any advice on exercises? I have limited space available, since i live in a dorm. And I suppose that I could go to the wellness center... but in all honesty I have a fear of working out in front of people. Probably because the other girls in my pe classes were all brutally mean growing up.

Oh also, I have asthma. I don't think that that really matters much, but sometimes i have to go slower on exercises because I don't want to like die

But yeah, any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!!

Hey,

I bought p90X. And honestly, I did it. You can do it. It's not about like...being at the same stage of the people on the tape. It's about beating yourself, you know? And doing it with your BF would be so fun. I bet you'd benefit each other. You should try it. First. Before dismissing it. Try and eat healthier and do P90X. You don't really need to follow the diet. I did. Really, I noticed. And I couldn't do everything at first. It really teaches you some important things. So if you wanted to go to the gym or do things on your own, you could.

Baby stand tall. You can have it all.

Don't you worry your pretty little mind, people throw rocks at things that shine..

Hey

I also recommend p90X. While I haven't personally done it (which I should lol) I know lots of people who have done it to get in shape. There are different levels and like Crux said, you don't have to look like the people on TV. Eating healthy is also really important.

Nobody cares about what you do in the gym unless you're doing something incredibly stupid. Going to the gym as an adult =/= high school pe classes with the bitchy girls.

You could bend down and try some yoga stretches...we did that at school.

Thing about gyms is that, unless they're training together, people are basically invisible to each other. You get all kinds of people: old people wanting to keep a little fitness, fat people wanting to get thinner, bodybuilders, kids. No-one's going to tease you if you can't run as fast, or can't lift as much. They won't even notice.

Anyway, go to the wellness centre and hit the rowing machines. Far better than a cross-trainer or treadmill.
