Disinfect - November 16th 2010, 06:50 PM

How much of my house am I supposed to disinfect after having strep? I don't want to catch it again.

That's probably something you're best asking your doctor about for official advice. After a little reading online seems most people recommend you wash blankets, duvets, pillows, towels etc. Make sure you wash down surfaces and door handles with a disinfectant that you may of come in contact with. Get rid of the tooth brush and tooth paste you were using at the time.

But as I say, for official advice on that, best option is to contact your GP.

When my doc thought I had it, she told me to buy a new toothbrush and start using it about 4 days after being on antibiotics so I wouldn't re-infect myself with it.

So I'd say just get a new toothbrush and you should be fine.

As you know, we're not medical professionals so we can't give you a proper answer. I'm going to strongly recommend that you see your doctor and ask what he recommends.
