Odd sleep happeningsH - November 30th 2010, 05:16 PM

Not sure where to post this, but erm..here goes.

I'm a 19 y.o male of reasonably decent health, I suffer from depression and have done for as long as I can remember. I am quite a heavy drinker but no so much so that it has ever become a problem. Enough of my introduction, the problem...

Last night at around 2am my younger brother was awoken by me allegedly shouting 'GET OUT! EVERYBODY GET OUT!' when my brother came to see what was wrong apparently I was sat on the end of my bed with my duvet telling him to get out and if he heard that loud noise and that there was someone in the house. However, I can't remember this happening at all. I didn't even know about it until he came home from school and told me about it. Prior to this I had stayed up all of the previous night (I do this quite often) but I have never had any side-effects from it? I am guessing I was having a nightmare and woke up still freaked? Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

Cheers.

People talking in their sleep is common. And sometimes, they yell.

It sounds like you were just having some type of dream. I've been known to shout in my sleep sometimes as well. I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts happening on a regular basis.
