Anyone else with randall's plaque? - December 21st 2010, 07:50 AM

I was just wondering, since I never met anyone else with it. I'm not sure if it has other names, so heres a description:
a bunch of little kidney stones gathering in the bottom of the kidney(s).

I had to have 2 surgeries last spring for it, and got a couple of UTIs and kidney infections from it, spent a total of about 2 weeks in the hospital, and am on potassium citrate 3 times a day (when I remember) because of it. I'm horrible at remembering my meds, which is causing the return of the stones (does that sound like a bad band/movie title to anyone else??), which is what made me think to post this.

There will come a time, you'll see
With no more tears
And love will not break your heart
But dismiss your fears
Get over your hill and see
What you find there
With grace in your heart
And flowers in your hair

I've never personally had anything like this, but I have known people who have suffered from kidney stones - I've heard its verrrry painfull :/

However, as for remembering your meds....

Do you have a tablet box, with the days written on? That could help you out? Its like a plastic container into which you decant your tablets, then leave it out so that you remember.
Or, maybe get a sticky post it note, and stick it somewhere you'll see - like a kitchen cabinet or your bedroom door

Hope that helps, Hope you feel better soon x

I'm still alive.
Must have been a miracle
It's been one hell of a ride
Destination still unkown
It's a fact of life: If you make one wrong move with a gun to your head
You better walk the line or you'll be left for dead.

I'm a runaway train on a broken track
I'm the ticker on the bomb that you can't turn back
Thats right.
I got away with it all and I'm still alive.
Let the end of the world come tumbling down.
I'll be the last man standing on the ground
As long as hot blood runs through my veins
I'm still alive.
