Internal and external hemmorhoids. Just my luck. - December 22nd 2010, 11:13 AM

It's definitely my kind of luck. I believe I have them because I've had it before and this is almost exactly the same with all symptoms, only amplified. It's typical to believe that hemmorhoids only arise in the middle or older population group. Previously, they've generally lasted two-three days but this one's been five days so far with no relief. That is, my external hemmorhoids.

But it's just my luck that I get internal ones as well. Bright blood on toilet paper after passing stool = apparently supposed to be a sign of internal hemmorhoids. However, they're not that bad until they become inflamed, thrombosed or prolonged. That doesn't seem to be my case right now, but I'm trouble by some symptoms. I feel a slight tingle in my rectum, like I need to fart but I honestly don't want to push it in fear of pain or following through.

But just curious, what are some high fibre foods that I can buy without my parents inquiring into my
sudden desire to eat healthy? Haha.

And also, are bulk fibre dietary pills a good idea? What are peoples thoughts on it?

Because in the end, it doesn't even matter.

Re: Internal and external hemmorhoids. Just my luck. - December 23rd 2010, 09:30 AM

I know this isn't right to do this, but it's really distressing me and I'd like some answers. I know they're generally harmless but when you have blood coming out after bogging, it really doesn't seem harmless. And I know they'll go away, but shit. How bad must my diet be to have both internal and external hemmorhoids at the same time? I'm in so much pain at the moment, I have a 10 hour shift tomorrow and it's all hard labour, and I really don't feel comfortable telling my parents I'm bleeding from the anus just to have a doctor poke a stick up my ass, cripple me with pain in the process and then tell me to "rest" for a couple of days.

It's not thrombosed or prolapsed, but still. It's distressing. I've had it since Sunday, it's almost Friday now and my girlfriend doesn't really find that I'm in pain because of an external hemmorhoid to be quite appealing. I mean, what can I do? Seriously. Anyone got any good ideas on how long internal hemmorhoid symptoms last and how long external ones do? I'm bound to get it again, but surgery won't be an option unless I'm unable to shit or bare the pain, both I can do right now. It really is distressing.

Because in the end, it doesn't even matter.
