My eyes! MY EYES! (Dry eyes question) -

So I went to the eye doctor a while back and I said I had dry eyes. She put orange and green dyes in my eyes and told me that the problem was that the oil part of my tears wasn't forming properly, which made my eyes feel dry even though I HAD enough tears. She gave me two sample bottles of Soothe XP and told me to use it four times a day. I DID use them four times a day (actually more, because she said that I could do that if need be), and they didn't work. I went back and said that the Soothe wasn't working, and she gave me Restasis. I've been using that for... just over three weeks. I know it take a while to start working, but I have two questions:
1. HOW long does it take to start working? I've tried doing research online, but that's not really working for me. 2. If it NEVER starts working... what else can they do?

I honestly don't know. But since this thread has no replies yet I thought I'd put in my opinion. Could you ask your doctor these questions? As they would most likely know and then you wouldn;t have to worry about making sure the information you are recieving are correct.

Hey there,
1. I might just vary between each person, but don't quote me on that. I have never had to really use eye drops 2. Just keep new thing whenever you need to. Such as eye drops. There should be "dry eye relief" drops at your local drug store that you can get as well, as I just did a quick trip to google. Hope that helped some

@MegaMadness: I have an eye doctor's appointment in... Early March, I think. Last time I went she gave me Restasis and told me to come back in three months. I'll ask her then, because I've HEARD that it could take as long as a year to begin working.
About eye drops: They never work (I've tried every kind I could). THESE eye drops are supposed to be really great, but they haven't done anything so far. That's probably normal, but I get paranoid about this type of stuff and my mind automatically goes to "OMG WHAT IF I NEED SURGERY," haha.
