Question Pills/methods to lose weight FAST - May 7th 2011, 03:18 PM

Hey, I try really hard to do a lot of excercise but I never seem to lose a noticable amout of weight. I don't generally have breakfast and I have some rice cakes for lunch and for dinner I will have a sandwhich or a rice dish. On an average week I will do about 7 hours of sport but I am stuggling to do anymore because my exams start in 9 days and it just seems impossible. Does anyone know of any Pills that will make you lose weight Fast or any ways to help purging. Thankyou xxxxxxx

The only healthy way I can suggest to lose weight is to continue to exercise and eat on a healthy basis. Eat breakfast! It's the most important meal of the day. There are whole grain cereals to eat that are much healthier for you, or oatmeal. Something that will have less calories in them.

But, diet pills are not the way to go. There are some strange side effects that come along with taking them, one even being "anal leakage". Yeah, it's gross and is definitely unhealthy for you to take them.

Like Shannon said diet pills are not the way to go and pills that induce purging are especially unhealthy.

Exercise and eating right is the best way to lose weight and it's brilliant in the long term. I suggest checking out this thread in order to help you

Purging and diet pills? Are you kidding? There is no easy solution to losing weight, and by eating only rice you're just preventing weight loss. Without nutrients you body will not lose weight, because it is trying to preserve nutrients. Diet pills and unhealthy and I doubt they work, and purging is bad for you as well.

Imagine this, you're skinny, so skinny you've skin and bone, you have no hair, your eyes are gaunt, your face is sunken and your skin is discolored, usually orange or green. That sounds like a zombie, right? Wrong it sounds like someone who is suffering from anorexcia.

Eat healthy and live healthy, get help from doctors, they'll help you lose weight efficeintly and in a healthy way.

First, there's a reason people say breakfast is important. It starts up your metabolism for the day, by eating breakfast you'd actually be helping your body use the energy it consumes in a better way. Restricting what you eat isn't necessarily a bad thing, refraining from things you know are bad for you (ex. candy) is good and will help. But restricting what you eat to rice cakes and a simple meal might actually be making it HARDER to lose weight.

If you truly want to lose weight the healthy way, you could always ask a nutritionist what would be a good, balanced diet for your body based on what you need personally. Don't just focus on weight training (I don't know what sport you do) or cardio. You need a balance between the two.

Why the huge rush to lose it anyways? I can tell you right now that any "fast" way is pretty much unhealthy. And all those diets they have now? Like special K? The second you stop those types of diets, you gain whatever you lost, on top of them not being the healthiest thing.

Basically, you're destroying your metabolism by not eating properly. Therefore, you're going to find it REALLY hard to lose weight. You need to eat right, and exercise. Diet pills don't even really work. They usually just make you feel shaky and sick to your stomach, and you don't lose any weight whatsoever.

Dieting pills are a bad idea. You should definitely try and eat breakfast, don't starve your body!

If you're having difficulty losing weight, perhaps it is time to see your doctor. There might be an underlying health problem or perhaps you are missing something in your routine to help you lose weight more effectively. It's a good idea to start eating regular meals to help you achieve your daily intake needs. How can you expect your body to function the best it possibly can when you are not feeding it the best foods?

You should be very careful about lose-weight-quick methods. Usually these are not reliable and only a temporary fix. Most importantly, such methods can prove to be extremely dangerous. Diet pills can cause high blood pressure, insomnia, and heart attacks which may lead to death. Diuretics and those sweat suits can lead to dehydration. While you may be losing water weight, it won't be helpful in the long run. You'll gain back the weight as quickly as you lose it. Please think carefully about what you are doing to your body because there is no way to reverse some forms of damage once it's done.

It sounds like you're eating nothing but carbs. No wonder you're gaining weight. You're probably malnourished and skinnyfat as a result too. Get some protein into you.

Eating breakfast and the high meal frequency that goes along with it is some of the most overrated diet advice ever. Eating breakfast doesn't "stimulate your metabolism" any more than eating an equivalent portion of calories at any other time would. Meal frequency literally doesn't matter at all. You could be healthy if you ate one or two meals a day, so long as your overall calorie and nutrient intake was good, and you could be incredibly unhealthy eating 6 times a day. IMO it's counterproductive to tell someone to up their meal frequency when a) doing so won't help them in the slightest and b) doing so may lead to them making sub-par meal choices when presented with a dillema between eating said sub-par food and skipping a meal.

To the OP, diet pills do work and are effective. However, they work only temporarily and by the diet you're using, you may lose weight but you'll make it unhealthier as it is. Natural fibers do work and I mention this later on. The carb-only diet isn't going to work well because it lacks protein and other essential nutrients and vitamins. The only thing you end up doing is malnourishing yourself and eventually people are going to notice you don't look good at all, you'll look ill. Add onto that, you may develop an eating disorder, which won't make you any healthier. You may lose weight but you want to be healthy and lose weight.

Did you read the OP's post? They're using an all-carb diet as it is, which is unhealthy so your advice is to eat more carbs. Great, oatmeal is lower in calories compared to other grains but it's still not a low-calorie food item. It's not more healthy, it's adding more carbs only and nothing else. Perhaps you'll lower the calorie count, wonderful for you, the diet is still unhealthy and you're complimenting it.

Breakfast doesn't start metabolism nor does it end it. Metabolism is always on-going. Breakfast is simply the initial large energy input after sleeping. It may alter metabolism but doesn't start it.

Watch nutrition labels, sometimes when you do things like pour a bowl of cereal you're pouring 3 or more servings into one bowl, which means [Edit] or more calories instead of [Edit]. You should eat right around when you wake up and it should be a balanced meal and contain at least 1/4 of the calories you are going to consume in a day. for loosing wieght, when I was on a diet I was on a [Edit] calorie diet. Breakfast should be your largest meal because you have all day to burn it off.
and then eat small meals throughout the day.
Drink water, only water. that way youre not drinking calories. and avoid diet soda and salt, the salt makes you retain water.
I also recomend a multivitamin so you dont risk becoming malnurished
And something that i found helps is Niacin. its a vitamin that boost your metabolism, it has an annoying flushing side effect which makes your skin turn red and you get really warm. So it helps to take it on a full stomach (like when youre eating breakfast)

Dieting pills are not a healty way to lose weight. Theyjust damage your body and mess up yourmetabolism. The best way is through excercise and healthy eating.

I should have worded that WAY better.

I think the best suggestion would be to visit a doctor, or a nutritionist, because as you can see there are a lot of conflicting things on the internet. The only way to know for sure, for your body, is to see someone that knows a lot about it, does it for a living, and can change things to fit YOUR body's need.

From what I've heard, doctors actually recieve remarkably little nutritional education, and most of what they do get is "hurr durr here's the food pyramid eat that".

Don't use any pills. you can get some side effect from those. if you want to burn abdominal fat from your body. first get a simple diet plan,exercise regular and always motivate yourself.

Maybe, but there are doctors that specialize in diet and nutrition, and they should be more knowledgeable on the subject. I've known a few people to use nutritionists and it helped them (but of course, it might not work for everyone, and some are probably better than others)
