Angry Big breakouts? - March 18th 2009, 02:57 AM

I used to have pretty clear skin, but now I'm getting TONS of zits (Gross, I know.) and it's mostly around and in my hairline, and on my forehead. I've only had a couple zits on the bottom half of my face, but it's mostly on my top half of my face, and in my hair.

It's aggrivating, and I'm washing my face every night, but I'm breaking out a bunch. :/

Don't moisturize your skin too often, it'll just make it oily and add to your problem. Make sure you're drinking a lot of water and keeping a healthy diet. Vitamin C and all that good stuff. Make sure you keep your face clean and if it gets oily, wipe your face with preferably alcohol wipes, but just tissues or something similar is fine.

Spots are annoying, but unfortunately there is no miracle to cure to get rid of them. If it's a major concern for you, why not try talking to your doctor and seeing if she/he can prescribe you anything?

Also, it could be the shampoo/conditioner you are using because they are around your hairline. Some of the herbal shampoos really irritate your skin.

I don't usually put lotion on my face, unless it's super dry and peeling or something. I've been trying to eat better.. Thanks(:

Hmm... I've never thought about my shampoo and conditioner.. That might be part of it, since I only started using that kind a little while ago..

Acne is not usually food allergy. I would reconsider your shampoo and talk to your doctor about medication?

Otherwise, try to find a facial soap that works for you and drink plenty of water. Don't overwash your face, though, as that could make it worse.

Hmm. I think it really depends on your skin and the season. I wash my face with soap every other day or so in the winter, usually just rinse with cool water.. but in the summer I find myself needing to wash with soap everyday.

I think it's a trial and error / talk to a dermatologist thing because it's certainly not the same for everyone

Acne sucks, majorly.
I think your best best is to maybe go see a dermatologist and see what he/she recommends to help the acne problem die down.

try and keep your hand off your face. whenever i sit at the computer i always prop my head up against my hand and it causes me to get alot of acne on that side of my face >_<

idk if this is the case with you... but yea use stridex or something every morning and night

be religious about it. skipping every once in a while wont help you

One of the causes of acne is not moisturizing enough! Some people don't moisturize their oily skin because they think it will add more oil, but that's not the case. There's moisturizers medicated for oily skin, which adds good hydration aswell as drying up the excess oil. It's good to moisturize after washing your face to smooth the skin. Just make sure your moisturizer is face moisturizer. Cetiphil makes an excellent moisturizer for all skin types, and one for oily skin. It works wonders

Also, try face masks. Clay masks work the best. Or you could make one by mixing 2 spoonfuls of honey and 1 spoonful of milk. Mix it in a bowl and then apply it to your face with your hands or a cotton ball. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse. Your face will be soft and clean and it really helps the acne
