Headaches - September 19th 2011, 09:36 PM

For about 2 weeks now, every day, I've been having headaches. They arent very severe but it does quite hurt... it's like in the middle of my head at the front. Does anyone know what it could be? I will probably end up booking a doctors appointment but Im wondering if it's anything I could sort by myself. I've tried sleeping more, eating more healthy and spending less time in front of tv/computers but Im still getting them..

Headaches can be caused by many things. Sometimes it's stress, sometimes it could be another factor.

Here is a website for you to look at it. It gives detailed information on the different types of headaches, their causes and their treatments. But, seeing a doctor would also be the best bet. We aren't doctors and give you a proper diagnosis as to what is causing your headaches.

Re: Headaches - September 20th 2011, 04:52 PM

As Shannon said, headaches can be caused by many things. A few months ago I had one for 5 weeks straight. My doctor did scans and tried some heavy duty painkillers. None of it worked.

In the end he tried something less severe. It turned out to be tension headache which had lasted so long it irritated my lymph nodes to the point they swelled up so the headache wouldn't go away. I was prescribed anti-inflammatory meds then tension meds, which worked.

I would suggest seeing a doctor since it has lasted so long. It could be something severe, or something simple like mine was.

Try a head massage. Drink a large glass of water - it could be dehydration and you might not even know it. Hot showers relax muscles, so you could try this too. On the other hand, using an ice pack, cold bag of food, cold wash cloth, etc on the back of your neck for about 15 minutes at a time could help reduce swelling which might relieve your headache.

Pretty much what the others have said - stress, being run down, all kinds of things can cause headaches.

One thing to add though, perhaps go for an eye test - I know it's not in the 'right' place, but I found that the source of my headaches were due to poor eyesight.
