Crazy Health Day - March 20th 2009, 01:39 AM

I just decided to share my crazy day with you all today.
So it started out, going to a new/third doctor for my ankle. He said that my ankle had nerve damage and possible tarsal tunnel. (Tarsal tunnel= carpal tunnel in ankle. I have carpal tunnel ) So, he prescribed me medicine to help the pain in the damaged nerve that would be taken for 3-6 months twice a day. I found it interesting that I'm being put on it because I'm always exhausted as is, and most people on this medicine end up having drowsiness. Great.
The rest of the day was pretty normal. Went through school successfully and had an all-over pretty good day.
Then after school, during theater (I'm a crew kid), I was asked to use a box cutter and cut excess stuff off of a platform-like thing. (Best way to explain it) Well, I got my leg. And at first I didn't even know that I got my leg. About the time I finished, I realized that my leg was bleeding and figured, "Oh, it'll stop soon..." About a half-hour later, I went to the bathroom to see what my leg looked like. It wasn't a very pretty sight. It wasn't like a long cut, actually maybe two-three inches long, but it was probably about an inch deep.
I went to our tech director and asked him if I could go get Tylenol, figuring I'd get a band-aid and get back to work. Well, I got a friend of mine from in the hallway to go with me because I was feeling light-headed and we went to get me a band-aid. I wasn't allowed to get a band-aid from the lady in the office, she wanted me to go to our athletic trainer to get it checked out. So I did.
And he told me I had to get stitches. I asked my friend to go and move my backpack to the hallway or library or somewhere in case they got out of theater before I was done. So the athletic trainer cleaned up my leg and closed it up as best as he could. And so I started heading back towards the library and found my friend and went back into the theater. And got kicked out by one of my friends because he found out what happened to my leg and wanted me to sit down and rest.
So, I had to wait and really didn't get to sit down much because I had to let my mom know I needed stitches, then she called me saying she didn't know where to take me to get stitches (ER, duh!) and told me to call my dad. So I called my dad who had taken me to my doctor's appointment that morning (Also note that my parents are divorced) and explained it all to him. We decided that my mom just didn't want to take me even though she was already off work and he decided to just leave work and take me. So I was walking around for about a half hour making calls because I couldn't get service for my phone inside the school.
So then I sat down for another half hour waiting for my dad to get to school. He got there, we left to go to the ER and I found out that getting blood on my school pants means I'm not allowed to wear them any more. (Note also that I am allowed to wear them after I've gotten paint down the side) So I'm going to skip over to when I got into the room in the ER. They numbed up my leg with anesthetics and stitched it up. I ended up getting six stitches. And since I cut it using a sort of knife/razor and can't remember when I last had my tetanus shot, even though I know I'm up to date, they figured it was probably about five years ago. So I got a tetanus shot as well!
All together today I got prescribed medicine for my ankle, 6 stitches and a tetanus shot... Interesting day...

This is how it ends
We believe every lie & say we'll still be friends
How long will it last
Before we scratch all the scripts & rework the casts
