Unusual breast rash (advice please) - March 20th 2009, 04:10 AM

For a few weeks, my breasts have been itchy and now I'm noticing an awful rash that has large splotches--some look purplish, others look blood red. Is this just dry skin or could it be something serious? I'm going to get it checked out regardless, I'm just interested in some opinions...

Where is it specifically? Does your bra/clothes rub against it, or heat rash is a big thing a lot of people have a problem with.

My first guess would be heat rash, they're usually small red bumps in my experience, I know some of my friends get it fairly bad. Try putting Hydrocortizone Cream on it. It's what my doctor has always recommended, though keep in mind that I'm not a doctor. And if you're worried, you're doing the right thing by getting it checked out.

Yeah i was gunna say the same as Maria, is where your bra as rubbed? It could be something simple like an allergic reaction to your washing detergant, or like Maria said, something like heat rash. The only person who can really tell you would be a doctor, so i guess you'll just have to wait to hear what she/he thinks.

Well, the rash could mean a lot of different things, so as previously suggested it's probably best to make an appointment with your doctor if it is bothering or worrying you. As was also suggested, you might want to put some rash cream on it if it's itchy, and at least that will take the annoyingness of it all away. Best of luck
