Impetigo

Basically, I'm just wondering if anyone on TH has dealt with impetigo. For those of you who don't know what it is, look it up (it's hard to explain properly).

I get it basically once a year, and it's awful.

I've had it once before. God is it painful! You need to get yourself to a doctor to get some antibiotic cream. The moment impetigo strikes you need to wear shirts which cover the armpit and the top of the arm to stop them touching. You need to follow a strict hygiene routine to ensure it doesnt spread and apply the cream at the first sight of impetigo.

I've never had it spread before, and I've never gone to the doctor for it before.. It's just really embarrassing until it heals

My little sister has had it before. She ended up in hospital because it was pretty serious but she got better with the creams they give you. Hope you get better soon

Mine's never been serious, and it says to put bacitracin on it so that's what I've been doing. It' just really sucks cuz there's no way to hide it, and people are like "what happened to your face??" until it goes away.

Well, as you've said you've never been to the doctor I'd suggest going when there isn't a flare-up of impetigo. Speak to them and ask what they suggest because the cream your using is certainly not strong enough.

I work 39 hours a week and I'm in college full time... I don't have time to go to the doctor
