I suffer from chronic migraines, and they are triggered by anything. Sunlight (I have blue eyes, and people with blue eyes have a harder time in the sunlight), not eating anything, drinking too much soda. It just depends. I can't pinpoint just one answer.

As Shannon mentioned, blue eyes are more sensitive to light and I have blue eyes... The way I sleep (if my neck is in one position too long). Stress. Not eating. Too much sugar. Not enough sugar. Sleeping too much. Not sleeping enough.... Also, my optic nerves are swollen and it causes pressure on my eyes so I get tension headaches from that. I have a headache almost every single day.

From the top of my head I think the main causes are dehydration, disrupted sleeping patternss, high blood pressure, and strained eyes.
For me... it's dehydration most times. I have to drink almost twice as much water because of the amount of activity I do, and it's frequently hard for me to keep up with 4 to even 5 litres a day. And gritting my teeth used to be a problem... but it was mostly because I used to drink quite a lot of Coke, which made me grit my teeth. I've stopped drinking it, for many reasons, apart from some nights out. If you've got some spare time, read this:
http://www.teenhelp.org/forums/f40-s...-d/#post631229 But don't if you're easily triggered. If you're not easily triggered then go ahead. ![]() |

Stress is the biggest, but vanilla scents also give me a bad headache. AND cleaning supplies :P

For me it's mainly my meds at the moment. I am in the process of being weaned off of them completely and I get a headaches quite a bit.
![]() Also, dehydration, eyestrain and tiredness, which is why I try to drink plenty of water (and often fail), wear contact lenses/glasses full time and try to take naps wherever possible.

I have fibromyalgia, which causes tension headaches. They can be pretty extreme. OTC pain killers don't help, unfortunately. :/
Other than that, stress gives me migraines. Also, chocolate triggers them, I have no clue why! |

Gluten triggers my migraines. Those are terrible, eating gluten is not worth one.
I also get tension headaches, which aren't nearly as bad as my migraines. I have no idea what causes those, I can't pinpoint any particular trigger. We were made to be courageous. I also get headaches when moving too fast, waking up and like some posters said, blue eyes and bright light. Thanks, I thought I was weird :P
I also get fatigue, and this causes headaches, but I just nap it off. |

I usually get mine from laying on the ground or when I wake up. If I stare at the computer screen long enough I get headaches. When I need a new glasses prescription or when I'm hungry I get one, or if I'm sick.

Lack of food or sleep, stress. Watching a movie in a theater sometimes does it. I get migraines too, but those don't seem to be triggered by anything in particular. Maybe stress. I'm always stressed

dehydration mostly aha. I use to get in trouble w.ith my cousin's boyfriend because I got a migraine when I was there and he was convinced it was because I don't drink enough...needless to say the rest of the time i was visiting them I had to have a drink in front of me at all times.
otherwise...stress, my horrible sleeping patterns, certain scents, and other things Im not sure about |

My headaches worsen due to sunlight (heat, really), stress, eye strain (from reading or wearing glasses for long periods of time mostly), excessive amounts of chocolate, dehydration, and sleep/food deprivation. However, they are caused primarily by stress (which sometimes causes eye strain and sleep/food deprivation).

From what I can tell with me it's mainly not drinking enough, not sleeping enough or sleeping too much and energy drinks. There is probably other causes that I haven't really realised and I didn't know the thing about blue eyes and I have blue eyes so I guess that could be one thing also.

I have no idea what causes my headaches, but perfume, cleaning chemicals, and other scents trigger my migraines, as do changes in weather.

Um, breathing. :P
Really anything triggers mine anymore. If I move my head too fast, don't eat for awhile, drink too much alcohol, not enough sleep, eating too much cheese (not dairy...cheese lol). Caffeine doesn't bother me though. It makes it better
