Exercise Habits. -
November 20th 2011, 10:32 PM
I'm not exactly thrilled with the way I look, but I don't want to go to extreme measures to reach my weight loss goals. I'm not really "fat", but I could afford to use a little extra weight. I want to focus on getting a flat stomach and toned legs. However, I have the willpower of a goldfish when it comes to diet and exercise. I last for about a week, then go back to my old habits. Does anyone have some tips for fun exercises that show results? I need something that's easy to keep up with, since using methods with a lot of specifics clearly isn't working. Thanks a bunch!

I've found that the easiest way to do more exercise, is to build it into my routine, so that I don't have to think, "Right, it's time to exercise" - I just do it without realising.
Do you own a bicycle? Cycling places instead of walking is an easy way to burn calories and tone your legs. And it means that you get everywhere faster.

Hahah, I don't have a bike, but my sister does. I might just take hers. It's not like she ever uses it. She's skinny enough as it is. :P

If you want to slim, cut your diet down a bit all round. If you get hungry have an apple or something. For exercise there are 3 main that I do, running, cycling and rowing. Cycling is easy if you have bike, running you can do anywhere but usually needs you to take some time out, and I only do rowing now on machines in the local gym.
I'd say fast-paced walking is about as effective as cycling. If you've got some spare time, read this:
http://www.teenhelp.org/forums/f40-s...-d/#post631229 But don't if you're easily triggered. If you're not easily triggered then go ahead. ![]() |

Do something you enjoy! Jump rope maybe? Maybe start going for walks with your dog if you have one, or find new areas to explore and hike.
Think outside the box. You can also start a reward system, keep a calendar, mark when you work out, and every week you go, you can buy yourself something special? I did that for a while, with coffee of course.

You could try taking up a sport or something. I know that some weeks I wouldn't exercise at all except for the fact I'd made a commitment to, say, go to a taekwondo lesson, or play a game of netball. Doing things with friends is also fun - maybe go to the gym with a friend? That way you can have fun and get fit at the same time. Maybe try something new each day or week - like yoga one time, then a fitness class another time. Mix it up so you don't get bored.
Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |

I agree with this. I get my exercise through dance, and it's something I've already worked into my schedule and committed to. Also, it's something I enjoy. I think it helps to have it be something you enjoy and to work it into your routine.
