Headaches when concentrating? -
December 5th 2011, 06:11 PM
Just lately I get headaches really easily. I get them when I read something or when I have to focus on cutting something out and that. Like today in psychology we had to cut out some key words and put them into sentances. I got a headache pretty much as soon as I started cutting. Then I got one after school when I started reading my text book for an essay.
I know I used to get these before I got my glasses stronger. That was only in July though and the strength was increased quite a bit. I wear them all the time now because my vision has gotten worse, things are much blurrier than they used to be. The glasses help me though, they seem strong enough. I don't know if it could be that or not. I'm not meant to have another appointment for two years. It would cost if I had one earlier. I just wondered if it sounds like it could be to do with my eyes, or whether it could be something else. Maybe stress, I'm not sure. I don't usually get stress headaches. What do you guys think? I know nobody is professional and I'm not asking for a professional opinion, just whether you think it's the glasses thing and I should consider making an appointment just to be safe, even though we are really short on money and can't afford it. Thanks for the help, Hollie. ![]() Would you let me see beneath your beautiful Would you let me see beneath your perfect Take it off now girl, take it off now girl I wanna see inside. ღ |

Well how long have you been wearing the glasses? When I first get my contacts/ glasses it takes about 1-2 weeks for my eyes to FULLY adjust to them - within those 1-2 weeks I also usually get headaches. After that, I usually don't. If its been more than about 1-2 weeks then I would in fact make an appointment to see your eye doctor - trust me they have people in there due to headaches all the time.
Best wishes, Chris Chris Jackson

It sounds like it could be your glasses. I would call them up and see what they can work out. If it has been recent that you were prescribed these, or even had them adjusted from being bent or anything, this can definitely cause headaches for up to 2 weeks after. Otherwise, something has changed and you need to get it straightened out.
Also, are you sure you aren't just tensing up? This can cause tension headaches which pretty well mirror a headache from vision problems. So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, it's been a good few months since I got these glasses. I had my appointment in June or something and I've had them since around then. I've had people say they might be stress headaches, but I'm not sure if they are or not because I don't usually stress over cutting things out.
![]() I might talk to my mum about calling them up but it depends on money. Thanks for your responses

It can't hurt to call and see what they can suggest
![]() Also tension is from tensing your muscles to concentrate or lift something heavy so even if you are not actually stressing mentally, you might be really concentrated on cutting that thing out right. Or it could be posture. Posture can also lead to tension headaches. So you have gray hair and you're only 26
