sore nipples

i'm a girl and recently my nippes are sore, for no apparent reason. i've never felt this, not even through puberty :/ any suggestions? heading to the doctors at some point to get checked out but wanted something to go on in the mean time.

Have you had unprotected sex recently? I know pregnancy can make them sore. Same with if your period is soon, or if you are on it. I hope everythings okay!

I've found this can happen during PMS or around that time. Another thing I've noticed is that if you have a looser fitting bra and what not, the friction can make them sore too.

Yeah, around my period, my nipples get sore. I would give it a through days, maybe they're just having an off time period, or you slept on them wrong. I sleep on my stomach, and sometimes my breasts get at a wrong angle and cause me some discomfort. Good luck!

Yes, it could be many things :P

As the other users said, if you have had unprotected sex it could be an early sign of pregnancy. It could also be irritation from the way slept or from the bra you wear, or it could be PMS.

I get sore nipples around my period time, though I never used to. And I've had them sore once from wearing a loose bra, even though I thought it was fine!

I'd say give it a week unless it is unbearable, worsens, or the nipples begin to leak (though that is usually with only one nipple and not both). So, seeing a doctor isn't a bad thing but if you need to save money then try to wait. I'm sure it will pass.

Heat pads can help with the soreness, as well as motrin, ibuprofen, or advil (tylenol would probably help too). Be sure to wear a supportive bra, or no bra if they are too sore.
